At the entrance to the valley of Cabasse, a major prehistoric site and a centre of mediaeval culture in the Var, is the BASTIDE OF CHATEAU RÉQUIER, part of the DOMAINES DU LAC. The bastide dates from the XlVth century, standing with its fortified farmhouse and its Templar chapel among 50 hectares of vines. |

The vineyard stands 127 meters above sea-level, covering three sites between the hill and the plain of Cabasse, le plan de Cabasse and the Cannet des Maures.
These extremely varied soils, allied to a very warm Mediterranean climate with less variation in temperature than at Carcès, allow a very complex work of assemblage, using the pick of the best grapes, to create wines with an almost infinite range of aromas. These are wines from the South, wines that offer the definitive expressions of their indivi-dual grape varieties: round and plump Rolle, smooth and light Cinsault, the alcohol and fruit of the Grenache, and the tannin and structure of Cabernet Sauvignon. |
